As with all of the road trip adventures we’ve done, we like to raise money for charity. This time we are going to be supporting two charities which complement each other.
One is geared towards reactively helping areas struck by disaster and the other is proactively helping poor communities (particularly in Peru) to build more sustainable and healthy futures.

More information about Shelterbox:
The ShelterBox solution in disaster response is as simple as it is effective. They deliver the essentials a family needs to survive in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children's activity pack and other vital items.
We hope you approve of these charities. They’ve been chosen since they have a low administrative overhead and are thoroughly commendable causes. Why not choose your favourite (or if you can’t
choose both) and donate whatever you can. If you aren’t impressed by the road-trip we’re doing – then why not sponsor us instead for the Bristol half marathon that we’re both doing in Sept '11 as part of our practice for running away from stuff!
All money donated via the links we provide goes directly, unconditionally, to charities. None of these donations is, in any way, paying for our costs.
If, however, you feel particularly sorry for us and want to help towards our insect repellant/fuel/bribes/beer fund then do get in touch direct, we're not proud.
