Ekit have been superbly supportive, providing us with a specialist mobile phone, SIM and credit for the trip. Most importantly, they also provide a 'Travel Journal' service, which means that our friends and loved ones will be able to keep track of our whilst we are lost in the depths of Peru. Thanks to this brilliant company, you'll be able to see where we are on a google map - the irony being that we ourselves may not have a clue! Special thanks should go to Rowena, who has been advising us and helping us get the service set up. Prospective travellers will all share the challenge of trying to keep lots of people up to date, on a limited budget - so it is well worth checking ekit out - the journal service is amazing; and they do low cost mobiles & SIMs as well.Whitby & Co are wholesale distributors of the leading hardware brands that adventurers would want to use. They have very kindly supported Team ¿Que? Guevara, providing us with a fantastic Leatherman multi-tool, a super compact, yet super powerful Inova torch, some reflective Nite Ize glow strips (so we are easily seen at night) and some robust shades for driving in bright sunlight (and so we look cool whilst doing so). We'll be carrying the brands of Leatherman and NiteIze on the moto-taxi, with some rather dashing stickers. Whitby & Co are in their 50th year (founded in 1961) - and stock literally thousands of products that adventurers want! We thank them for their generosity.
OutdoorKit have come on board to support Team ¿Que? Guevara and have kindly supplied us with a heavy-duty Vango 65 Sherpa rucksack (fit for the jungle) as well as T-Shirts. OutdoorKit.co.uk are currently the UK's leading online supplier of outdoor clothing and equipment. They're based in a warehouse in Luton, Bedfordshire which stocks over 3,500 outdoor products and have an established shop in St. Albans high street.
They say that "Customer Service is at the heart of what we do", and my experience is definitely that. I initially contacted them on a Tuesday morning and by 11:30am the following day I had received delivery of the goods. Very pleasing indeed.
Holpinn Limited: All we need to say about Holpinn Limited is that their generosity is unparelleled (so far!). With a whopping £250 donation to Practical Action, they have spurred us on and really made a difference. Thank you.
Special thanks should go to Aston Villa Football Club, and specifically Russell Jones, who has supplied us with a bunch of small goodies to take with us to Peru. Thanks to the club, kids in Peru will be getting some Villa pens, badges and team photos with player signatures on them.
Russell has also arranged for a short feature about the trip to appear in the matchday programme before Christmas (either for the Liverpool or Arsenal game). It's great to have the publicity, and has been fun working with the club to make this possible.
We want all of our sponsors to receive the recognition they deserve. All of our sponsors will be plugged, thanked and advertised on this page...so please contact us if you are interested.
Thanks also to the following individuals who have put their hands in their pockets and donated to the charities:
Jo and Christian Robb
John and Laura
John Birch
Rosemary and family
Meriel Miller
Jacqy Munro
Annie and Peter Walker
Dom and Julia
Stephen and Rita James
Useless RISI woman
