All that is left to do now is pay up for our hostel, have some breakfast get our gear together and then we are off to load the mototaxi and set off!
We will be having a police escort all the way from San Jeronimo, through and then out of Cusco (because it is illegal to drive mototaxis in the town) and then we will disappear into the mountains.
We should be feeling fresh after a moderate, but good, New Years Eve. We had a great buffet dinner to stock up on carbs before we leave, and then headed to the main square in Cusco, which was completely wild, fireworks being fired from windows, out of beer bottles, out of hands, it was completely bonkers and pretty lethal too.
Internet access might become problematic from now on (assuming we make it up the impassable hill out of the town), so keep an eye on progress via our twitter feed (see right hand margin) and the journal on our Where are We? page.
